My wife, went for a double-knee replacement at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital on June 9th. Her surgeon was Dr. Jeffrey Geller. Dr. Geller’s RN is Melissa Lolito.

I have researched Columbia Presbyterian’s standing in New York City and the nation as a whole. I must say that your ranking as “The Best” hospital in New York is certainly on the mark. My wife was treated with the utmost professionalism by all the staff at the hospital. Dr. Jeffrey Geller is a consummate professional, and an excellent surgeon with a great compassion for his patients. Nurse Melissa Lolito is magnificent, detailed and professional in her work. “Extreme Professionalism” is the word that exemplifies their efforts at the hospital.

After leaving surgery, she was placed on the 7 Garden North Wing. Once again, all of the staff on that unit were extremely attentive, kind to my wife, and professional in every manner.

Doctor Corbin, from the moment we walked into the hospital, we sensed the professionalism and extreme dedication within the building. We noticed it from the doctors in attendance, nursing staff, security personnel and personnel who were assigned to maintain and clean the facility.

Two years ago, I had my first encounter with Columbia Presbyterian’s professionalism when I first visited Director of Podiatry Dr. Zvi Bar David for foot problems. His professionalism persuaded me to ask my wife to consider your hospital for her knee replacements. Actually, Dr. Bar David recommended Dr. Geller for the procedure.

The sign emblazoned above Ft. Washington Avenue says it all, “Amazing Things Are Happening Here.”

I would be remiss if I did not take the time to write this complimentary letter regarding the doctors, physician assistants, nursing staff and the entire support team caring for me as a patient at NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital.

In the last five (5) years I have been a patient at the following hospitals: Nyack, Good Samaritan, Hackensack University Medical Center, NewYork-Presbyterian and Lawrence Hospital. I have also had ten months of experience at Sloane Kettering Memorial Hospital (my son was battling Stage IV esophageal cancer).

‍

Without a doubt, my knee replacement at NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital was the very best, unique experience. In fact, I will be returning to have my right knee replaced on 9/14. I anticipate having the same great results again at Lawrence Hospital.

The surgical team, lead by Dr. Jeffrey Geller, pre-op consultation planning and MRI with a custom knee to reduce bleeding was outstanding. The orientation session conducted by Nurse Maryann Rittenhouse was one of the most important phases for me as the patient and my wife Judy as the caregiver. Maryann even provided her personal cell phone number to use if we had any questions.

It should be noted that anyone that entered my room greeted me and introduced themselves, including personnel from the housekeeping department. It certainly raises one’s comfort level.

You are a genius—and the physical therapy at the Recovery section of the NYC Health Club on 10 80th Street was excellent, too. I feel I’m entering a new life after all the trials of the past few years. At 88, I don’t know how many years I am granted—but I am determined to enjoy every day!
